clothe yourselves with
&  patience

Homework is very important to staff and students at Bradford Forster Academy.

If set at an appropriate level of challenge and regularity, research tells us that homework has a very positive effect on student progress. It can also ‘bridge the gap’ for those students who have fallen behind.

Homework helps our students to become more independent, equipped with improved skills to succeed in life, and enables them to conduct their own research and create their own ideas.

Homework Sheets:

Most homework is set on coloured paper which makes it easier to remember and locate. Students should use their learn sheet folders to keep their homework safe. They should bring it back to school and their lessons by the set deadline.

Homework Written in Planners:

Homework must always be recorded in the student planner.
Parents should sign their child’s planner once per week, so they can use this time to check on the amount of homework that their child is being set.

They should write down:

Subject Task Deadline
e.g. French Complete the homework sheet about holidays. Monday 11th September

Marking Homework:

Teachers will go through homework as a class each time it is handed in. It is therefore, very important that students bring the homework on the day it is due.

Achievement Points:

Students are awarded achievement points for completing ‘good homework’. We try to do this as much as possible at BFA. Achievement count towards a rewards total, which can be used to purchase rewards at the end of each school term.
